An entire festival dedicated to COZY? Count us in for Cozy Quest!
Cozy Quest is another cool Steam Festival showcase and sale to get a clear look at a specific genre of game. In this case, the festivities focus on, as you probably guessed, cozy games.
For those unaware, a “cozy” game is a genre dedicated to making you feel warm and relaxed. While any game can be someone’s relaxing time, from a certain point of view, the genre has earned a place as its own very specific mindset.
When we talk about more mainstream cozy games, people often consider Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Stardew Valley, or Story of Seasons as prime examples. But, for every Animal Crossing out there, there are 100 cozy indie titles that can easily fall between the cracks.
I was excited to see that Cozy Quest Fest will take place from November 16th-20th, 2023. They promise an amazing array of titles in the showcase, both available right now and upcoming.
Popular games like Fae Farm, PowerWash Simulator, and Unpacking, as well as Secret Mode’s own titles, take center stage. But, there are just an absolute ton of things to look into during the Cozy Quest. In their announcement, they offered some specific titles, but more are apparently going to be shown off.
Some games already available for purchase were listed:
- Loddlenaut (Secret Mode, Moon Lagoon)
- Fae Farm (Phoenix Labs)
- Coral Island (Humble Games, Stairway Games)
- Unpacking (Humble Games, Witch Beam)
- Dorfromantik (Toukana Interactive)
- Moonstone Island (Raw Fury, Studio Supersoft)
- Sticky Business (Assemble Entertainment, Spellgarden Games)
- PowerWash Simulator (Square Enix, FuturLab)
- Hokko Life (Team17, Wonderscope)
- Lil Gator Game (Playtonic Friends, MegaWobble)
- Smushi Come Home (Mooneye Studios, SomeHumbleOnion)
- Station to Station (Prismatika, Galaxy Grove)
- Ooblets (Glumberland)
- Potion Permit (PQube, MassHive Media)
- Bear and Breakfast (Armor Games Studios, Gummy Cat)
- Pupperazzi (Kitfox Games, Sundae Month)
- Paleo Pines (Modus Games, Italic Pig)
- Kynseed (PixelCount Studios)
But, they’re also showing off a bunch of games that just aren’t out yet:
- Gourdlets (Future Friends Games, AuntyGames)
- Wood & Weather (Paper House)
- Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley (Raw Fury, Hyper Games)
- Tiny Bookshop (Neoludic Games)
- Grimoire Groves (Stardust)
- Tiny Glade (Pounce Light)
- Bubblegum Galaxy (Smarto Club)
- Kitbash Model Club (Curve Games, Floating Origin Interactive)
During the event, you can expect sales from plenty of the titles above and more, as well as developer interviews and livestreams of some of the games being played. I’m going to have to pick up some of these.
Secret Mode made the announcement about the Cozy Quest Steam Festival, making sure to highlight that their new cozy game, Loddlenaut, comes out the same day. Loddlenaut is an adorable Pikmin-esque title all about cleaning up an alien ocean as a deep-sea diver.
I can’t wait to check out the Cozy Quest Steam Festival directly on Steam from November 16th to the 20th. Everything on this list is just quintessential cozy and I hope we at Comfy Cozy Gaming can get some reviews out for these games in the future.
