Today’s offering on cozy games is short, but they’re both games that I’m dying to sink my teeth into for various reasons.
If you’re unfamiliar with the term “management game”, you’ve likely already seen a ton and didn’t realize it. They’re everywhere in computer, console, mobile, and even browser-based games.
A popular example is that you’re running a food shop, customers come in and then you have to execute a certain order of tasks to complete their order. Usually, there’s a time limit, but when you find the ones without… oh, it’s so ooey-gooey cozy.
Table of Contents
Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago
Steam tags are time management, idler, PvE, life sim, and JRPG.
14 Hours Productions brings us Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago.
In Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago, you’re tasked by the Fairy Queen to become a Guardian Spirit. Your job is to raise a little hero from an egg and help it grow strong enough to defeat the Dark Lord and bring peace to the land.
Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago is part Tamagotchi, part idle game, and part RPG adventure. You’ll need to protect the egg before it hatches then guide it through infancy and into maturity.
Your little hero will need to be fed, kept clean, and trained to be ready to go out into the world. Once they’re old enough, the adventuring can begin! Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago isn’t a game you need to keep a heavy focus on, so you can check in with it throughout the day to see the progression.
There are some dangers in the world and you may lose your little hero, but don’t be too sad! You’ll be given another egg to try again!
Gotta crack a few heroes to make an omelet in this management game.
When I tell you that this game fills my head with so much serotonin, I’m not just exaggerating. The graphics, the playstyle, the music, and the eggcellent name pun just fill me with so much joy.
I’m beyond excited to get my hands on this management game… even if I never kept my Tamagotchi alive. This could be my redemption arc!
Unfortunately, Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago hasn’t been given an official release yet, but there is a demo over on Steam so you can try it out for yourself!
Dungeon Tycoon
Steam tags are management, simulation, strategy, combat, and 3D.
Lunheim Studios brings us Dungeon Tycoon and it’s putting a whole new spin on dungeon crawling.
In Dungeon Tycoon, your goal is to build dungeons and lure heroes inside to quest for treasure. You aren’t trying to kill them, however. They’re your bottom line.
If the heroes are happy, they’ll come back, and that means more money for you to build bigger and better dungeons!
Hire monsters, research new items, and always strive to improve your dungeons in this management game. With Dungeon Tycoon, you’ll be bleeding heroes dry! Of their money, of course. What else would we be doing?
Come little heroes, I’ll take thee away, into a land of epic, amazing dungeons!
Sell potions and other aids to the questing moneybags and complete quests of your own to unlock vanity objects. Dungeon Tycoon puts the power of invention in your greedy, devious hands.
I’m a sucker for a good tycoon game and Dungeon Tycoon ticks all my boxes. I love that I get to design and expand my own dungeon empire. And the spin on dungeon crawling that this management game brings is such a fun idea.
I don’t just want this game. I need it.
There’s no hard date set for release, only that it’s coming in 2024. Luckily, there’s a demo to try out over on Steam until then!
