Littlelands was announced to be in development today and from the early trailer and pictures, it looks like it’ll be an amazing option to cozy down with. There’s currently no release information, but a demo is set to drop in mid-2024.
This one will have us waiting for the long haul, but I think it will be worth it. The art style gives a nostalgic feel while bringing it forward with realistic shaders. It’s almost like being dropped into an interactive diorama which gives it a unique feel.
Littlelands promises to be a game that lets you play at your own pace meaning that whether you want to adventure and handle monsters or stay home and farm, you’re covered!
It’s hard not to draw comparisons to Animal Crossing: New Horizons because this game shares a lot of aspects with it like fishing, farming, and catching insects. But it differs in letting you craft food dishes, travel between villages, and fight “goblinettes”.
Littlelands is going to be one of my newest obsessions next year…
Exploration and questing seem to play a big part in this game, so you know I’m sold. And the promise of hidden treasures and secret areas already have me itching to find them!
For a game that won’t have a demo available for half a year, the announcement of Littlelands makes a big impression. I’m really excited to see how it develops and what more they could add to the game before full release.
With a publisher like Apogee Entertainment, it’s no surprise that Littlelands has started off strong. You can wishlist the title over on Steam and keep an eye out for the demo dropping in 2024.
Hopefully, Littlelands will be compatible with the Steam Deck OLED because it seems like the perfect game to play cozied up in a chair.
