If you haven’t heard of Palia before, then don’t feel too bad because I hadn’t either until today! It’s a newer game that was released back on October 24 for PC by Singularity 6 Corporation.
What makes Palia special? Well, it’s a free-to-play, MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) where you get to run around doing whatever your cozy heart desires! There’s fishing, foraging, hunting, mining, cooking, insect catching, gardening, and even furniture making! Seriously, that’s quite the list of things to be able to do.
If you’re more of a loner, don’t let the other people running around scare you. You can play as solo or as friendly as you like. Not only can you run around doing whatever makes you feel happy, but you can settle into your home and make it uniquely, cozily yours.
Design your home in Palia the way you want it to look with hundreds of craftable items!
If I’m honest, I’ll likely go it solo until some kind soul takes pity on me and adopts me into their group. Look forward to a more informed article about the game once I’ve actually tried it out fully.
I think, right out of the gate, I’m most excited about the insect catching. It’s not a new concept, certainly, but it’s not a common one either. As far as MMOs go, I grew up playing Ragnarok Online and Fly for Fun, so I’m excited to fall into my next big obsession.
And if PC gaming isn’t your style, good news! Palia is coming to the Nintendo Switch on December 14th, 2023, and it’s still free on the console!
If you want to give the game a go, use my referral code! This isn’t an affiliate code, I don’t get money out of it. I just get in-game cosmetic and decoration items and you get a fruit welcome basket decor item! In fact, if you plan on playing with friends, you’ll want them to sign up with your own code that you get when you create an account!
