Doors – Paradox is free on the Epic Games store until February 8th

If Doors isn’t on your radar, consider this your official blip, Cozy Gamers. I know it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Doors is a delightful little series of escape-type levels that’s free right now on Epic Games store. 

I first learned about Doors because of my Google Play Pass where Doors: Awakening, Doors: Origins, and Doors: Paradox are all free if you’re subscribed. 

As you can imagine, the series is aptly named because your levels come in the form of various doors from the fantastical to the historical. The goal of each level is to solve the puzzles of the doors to get them to unlock. 

Honestly, I was pretty excited to download this game because it boasted 58 puzzles and the phone adaptation named Paradox only had 20. I figured they’d just cut out some puzzles from the mobile version.

Imagine my surprise when I booted up Doors – Paradox on Epic Games and found that none of the puzzles from the Paradox game on my phone were the same puzzles. That’s when I got to sleuthing. I re-downloaded all the Doors apps on my phone and opened each of them to compare the levels in each one to the levels in the game available on Epic Games. What I thought were separate installments were just chapters broken up into three mobile games. 

Happily, I can report that all the puzzles are accounted for, even the bonus levels that only open up if you find all the gems. On each level, there is a blue gem and a red gem. Finding all of each color will open up a corresponding ‘epilogue’ door.

In terms of cozy and level of difficulty, there are some puzzles that are a little harder than others. But, all around, you shouldn’t have too much stress or frustration. I loved these games when I first downloaded them and I even played one of the games a second time when enough time had passed. 

Normally, I wouldn’t replay a game, but I’m excited to play this in its entirety now. 
It’s free and you have nothing to lose, so do yourself a favor and download it while you can! Doors – Paradox will continue to be free to download until February 8th, 2024 at 11 AM.
