Nintendo is presenting a full Partner showcase as a Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at 6 am, PT. It’ll be available via YouTube as an on-demand video.
Editor’s Note: Here is the entire Nintendo Direct presentation.
The entire Nintendo Direct will be around 25 minutes and focus on Nintendo Switch games coming in the first half of 2024 from their “publishing and development partners.”
Since this is a Partner Showcase, most titles shown will likely be third-party. But, it’s always plausible that we could see some tidbits from the house that Mario built. If so, it’s possible that the Nintendo Direct may include news about the Donkey Kong expansion for Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios or any tiny news about the announced Zelda live-action movie, due to them being “partnered” with other companies to make them.
The rumor mill has been going strong, as Nintendo has had a February Direct historically. Seeing as it’s a Partner Direct, the developers can be nearly anyone. It’s been rumored that Xbox’s recent announcement of four games coming to other competitive consoles may be included in this Direct, with Hi-Fi Rush having plenty of evidence out there to support this theory.
Personally, I’m rooting for Xbox Game Pass to finally come to the Nintendo Switch in some way, but that’s a long shot.
How can I watch the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase?
The Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase will hit Nintendo’s official YouTube channel at 6 am Pacific/ 7 am Mountain / 8 am Central / 9 am Eastern on February, 21st, 2024. It’ll be available to watch anytime afterward as it won’t be a live show.
To reiterate: This is a Partner Showcase. That means it’s unlikely that we’ll see much directly from Nintendo’s in-house studios or any mainline games from their franchises. Additionally, as Pokémon Day is fast approaching on February 27th, it’s likely that all Pokémon news will be relegated to that eventual Pokémon Direct next week.
If you’re looking for a pretty sweet controller to use on your Nintendo Switch to play all the new games being shown, I highly recommend checking out our news about the upcoming CRKD NEO S controllers. They’re pretty rad.
