We got a chance to check out a demo of Glowfrog Games’ upcoming game that they’re working on, Pieced Together. While the game isn’t expected to be released until later next year, it’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into the build so far.
Pieced Together is a scrapbooking game where you revisit times you had as a child with your best friend, Beth. While the demo is only one chapter long, it’s clear that “friends forever” didn’t exactly work out.
It’s too early to know what the final game will look like, but fans of Sticky Business are going to find interest in this title. I’ll admit that it’s a bit on the rails, but I still had fun arranging stickers on the page.
You work through the scrapbook page-by-page and on each page, you’re given a main picture that you have to put complimenting stickers or ephemera around. Once you’re done, you move on to the next page.
We get little cut scenes around the chapters where we’re writing a letter to Beth. I found it sweet that the idea of bridging the gap between friends is told through the act of scrapbooking.
I’m not sure what Glowfrog Games has in store since this build is so early, but I’m hoping for more stickers for decorations that are unrelated. I ended up having some blank spaces that I wished I could fill with little stickers of stars or something cutesy.
Additionally, it would be nice if we were given some control over what color the page is or given decorative options like washi tape pieces to decorate the edges.
As someone who immensely enjoys scrapbooking, I’m excited to see what Glowfrog Games turns out next year. For now, you’ll have to wishlist Pieced Together on Steam and patiently wait for the demo. Otherwise, you can check out our latest review we did of Galaxy Burger.
