There are a ton of cozy games that are coming in 2025 that are well worth some hype, far more than the 13 that I’ve listed here. Don’t worry, however, I’ll be sure to put up some more lists of what I’m looking forward to and why. But, to save myself some sanity, here are just the first 13 that I can’t wait to get my hands on in the new year.
Feel free to let me know what you’re excited for whether it’s on this list or not. It’s highly possible that something has missed my radar.
Here’s to the New Year and even more Comfy Cozy Gaming. 🙂
Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of The Rings™ Game
I don’t think it’s a far cry to say that everyone has dreamed of being a hobbit once. I’m stoked to get to run around exploring the Shire, helping the villagers, and creating my own little hobbit hole. I yearn for the cozy of hobbit life. I shall revel.
Somehow, I’ve never heard of the Two Point games and I’m thoroughly delighted to be introduced at this stage. I love the idea of running a museum especially one with a Ghostology exhibit. This game seems to be oozing with charm, fun, and the unexpected. You may not be the one digging for artifacts, but you get to put them on display and design the museum you’ve always wanted to visit!
Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping
I got the pleasure of playing the first installment, Duck Detective: The Secret Salami and I had lot of fun with it. The art style is charming and the voice acting is top tier. I loved the way you observed details and slotted in clues to figure out puzzles. So, I’m incredibly stoked to have more of the same with this new title.
I don’t know how to express how psyched I am for this one. You get to run a little secondhand shop on wheels! Not only can you design it the way you want, but you can stock various book types and even suggest titles. It, also, looks like you can buy up mystery stock to sell which I find delightful.
I will always be excited about any game that lets me run around, chopping down trees, foraging items, and just letting me do what I want. This game lets you do all of that and you get to farm, take care of animals, do little quests, and even run your own little shop. And, if you want to find love, you can do that too! If you loved playing Wylde Flowers like I did, you’ll probably be happy to know I get the same vibes.
This one is overwhelmingly cute. If you’re looking for your next fix that plays like Animal Crossing, this just might be it. When the world ends, everyone moves up into floating islands where you’ll get to explore uncharted lands, farm, fish, and hang out with your friends in this superpowered adventure game.
If you’re a fan of games like Unpacking, then you’re gonna be excited like I am for this one. You run around town as a “home service worker” which means you’ll help customers keep things tidy and unpack their belongings for them. Whether you’re helping a client or just running around town exploring, there seems to be a wealth of things to do.
This one has been on my radar for a long time, it was included in one of my very first listicles here when it was still in its Kickstarter phase. I’m excited that it’s finally coming out soon! I think it’s a charming idea to run around exploring as a kid. You get to decide what you want to do whether that’s learning to cook, farm, or even dabbling in some magic all while soaring through the skies and exploring new islands.
If you love The Sims, but wanted something a bit more cutesy, then this game is one you’ll want to keep your eye on. As someone who loves playing The Sims, I’m curious to see how it measures up and what makes it unique.
I don’t know how ancient you guys are, but I grew up playing dating sims on ye olden dialup. So, anytime I see a dating sim, it’s pretty nostalgic. I’m excited for this one, the character designs are cute and I love that there’s a cooking element involved.
With the cancellation of The Sims 5, you may be looking for the next thing to expand your life sim gaming experience. Paralives is one of the closest games (still in development) that I’ve seen that matches that energy. And, honestly? I like the art better. You’ll be able to build and decorate homes, explore career paths, find love, take care of pets, and so much more!
Visually, this game gives so much Studio Ghibli energy that I wouldn’t even care if it didn’t offer anything. But, it does! Not only will you be able to run and decorate your own bakery in Paris, but you get to make the baked goods with a series of mini-games too! You’re not bound to the shop, however; you get to walk around the city and talk to people. You’ll even get to help your friends with a little bit of well-placed magic.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t know about this one until researching this list, but, boy, am I excited about it! Visually, it’s gorgeous. This cyberpunk inspired world is just brimming with details. There’s so much to do in this game. You can manage restaurants or nightclubs, go fishing, buy and decorate apartments, make friends or enemies, and even find love if that’s something you want to do.
