Welcome to the third and possibly final list of cozy games we’re excited for. Why are there three articles? Because I don’t hate myself. It’s that simple. While there are more games than these that I find interesting, this is the last of the crop that really made me lean in and mimic the seagulls from Finding Nemo.
Mine?!
Here are the last 9 games that are currently on our radar for 2025 that get to ride the hype train.
We’ve all wasted hours of our lives waiting around that we’ll never get back. Why not gameify it? It’s a very simple premise of just finding a way to kill time in the mundane tasks we do day after day. While there is no overarching goal, I still think it’ll be fun to play my way through 100+ different scenarios.
As a person who is terrible at the game, but thrives in real-life Tetris, this game speaks to me. Maybe it’s a fairy-given gift at birth or just plain ol’ hyperfixation, but I can and will sort things into spaces they should not conceivably fit within. It’s a fairly simple concept: fill a car with worldly possessions. On paper, it sounds pretty basic. But, trust me, this game has the makings of feeling accomplished.
This one is interesting because it reminds me strongly of mobile games where you have a limited amount of energy every day to clear the land and build up your base. I love those games and getting to forage without needing to wait 24 real hours speaks to me. Sometimes, you just wanna raze things to the ground, ya know? Destruction aside, you can build your home, fish, garden, take pictures, craft, dig up treasure, and more!
This is an interesting little game that thrives on trash. And, honestly, same. You play as little creatures living on the back of a giant flying turtle. You sail him around to islands, collecting trash and recycling it into buildings to create a thriving city for your tiny guys.
I know not everyone loves nonogram-type games. I used to be right there with you. But, hear me out, we listen and we don’t judge… work on smaller pictures and use those hints. Who cares if you don’t do it perfectly on your own? Squeakross lets you play puzzles to build furniture for a mouse. You don’t get much more Disney princess than that.
Onibi
I’ll be honest, there’s not much information for this one yet, but it’s adorable and that should count for something, right? Right! You get to play as a newly born spirit running around, figuring out life, with a child in a duckie raincoat. The coat has no bearing on this game other than being dope. You can explore and complete tasks completely off the rails at your leisure, possess people or objects, and complete environmental puzzles. With duckie raincoats nearby, all is possible.
Not only is this game gorgeous, but you get to play as Rooster, one of the zodiac animals. Unfortunately, Rooster has been punished for their actions and sent back to Ancient China. You’ll have to earn back your spot by helping Little Dove, a child you’ll watch grow, and other zodiac animals through various levels. There are a lot of different little games here from hidden objects all the way to dating sim. So, I’m pretty excited to see what wealth is hidden in this little gem.
We’ve all wanted to be treasure hunters, right? I love this idea of running around an island with a metal detector, finding lost things, and returning them to their owners. It looks like a fun little exploration game that might just have a bigger mystery afoot than what’s hidden beneath your feet.
Listen, I’ve only got one word for you: pandas. You’re sold, right? Yeah, me too. In all seriousness, Baobao’s is an adorable little idle cozy game where you get to build up a laundromat. Decorate it with cute items, expand to have even more machines, or hang out and listen to lo-fi beats. You don’t even have to actively play, you can let this idle in the background and come back when you’re ready to sweet, sweet profit.
