Threefold Recital is an interesting action-adventure platformer with elements of mystery and drama. Step into an Asian-inspired fantasy world where humans coexist with dragons and beastlings. This story starts in Bluescales, a metropolis where magic and technology coincide.
Times are not peaceful, unfortunately. An upheaval is created by mixing magic, modernity, and technology. And, with tensions already high, the secret, ancient art of miracles thought to be long since lost has started reawakening, causing even more turmoil.
Bluescales is in need of help if they’re not to fall to the oncoming storm. Cue our heroes, a long time ago, a snake, a wolf, and a fox waited patiently and worked hard over innumerable years to gain humanoid forms known as “beastlings”.
Meet Threefold Recital’s heroes
According to the Steam page:
– Triratna, the wolf-turned-monk, is able to see and sever karma lines—the threads of cause and effect tying everything together.
– Taiqing, the fox-turned-priest, is an expert of transmuting substances and other Daoist spells.
– Transia, the snake-turned-artist, is gifted with the ability to enter paintings and alter people’s appearances.
You’ll get the chance to play as all three and use the unique abilities of Triratna, Taiqing, and Transia to help Bluescales face the tumultuous times ahead. You can switch between their perspectives and even combine their powers in order to solve mysteries and save Bluescales.
Threefold Recital was released on Steam on January 14th and is $14.99. Until January 27th, you can get it for 10% off at $13.49. Visually, I think the game has a lot of nostalgic elements to love and with an “overwhelmingly positive” on Steam, it seems like a safe bet for those who like platforming games.
