Vending Dokan!: Kozy Kiosk is a cozy idler that lets you run a vending kiosk in an alleyway. You pop down vending machines, keep them stocked, and decorate the alley to entice customers to come check out your wares.
The premise is very simple and this is another game where you can be as involved or as idle as you like. Upfront, I feel like you have to be more involved, but once you’ve built up your stock, you can just check in every so often to restock the machines or clean them. Once you hit ‘Milestone 7’, you’ll be able to unlock helpers which will give you even more freedom to come and go.
Your duties for maintaining the alley are to simply keep the vending machines stocked, keep the alleyway clean, and keep your vending machines clean. All of these things will affect your rating which directly correlates to how appealing your machines are to passersby.
You have a ‘cleanliness’ rating and a ‘vibe’ rating which are combined to create an average overall rating. Cleanliness is keeping the alley and machines clean and the vibe is down to decorations.
Honestly, keeping the machines clean tends to feel like a full-time job. The minute you clean them, it seems like they drop down to a four-star rating. They are forever grubby. Hiring an employee will help in this area. Also, you may not notice it at first, but cans will collect on the far side of your alley. They’re easy to miss initially, but they bring down your cleanliness so keep an eye out for them.

As you amass money, you’ll be able to add more vending machines. And, as your rank goes higher, you’ll gain access to more licenses, which means you’ll be able to stock a wider variety of drinks. It’s important to have a spread of options because you have four types of customers: elderly, night owls, students, and office workers. They all have individual tastes that don’t align with each other, so to keep them all interested, you’ll need variance.
This part of the game felt familiar to Minami Lane because the things you build appeal to different demographics as well.
As you play, you’ll be treated to ambient sounds and lo-fi beats by Jellyfox. Personally, I tend to turn off the music, but it’s great to have options available to you. Lastly, I like that there is a way to speed up time, it makes getting up to milestone 7 a bit more manageable.
Unfortunately, the demo ends after milestone 5. So, I can’t really report on everything that staff does, but I do know they’ll help restock, keep the machines clean, and do repairs. In the full release, you’ll be able to stock more items and vending machine types, hire staff, get more brands and promotions, and use more decorations.
If you’d like to give Vending Dokan!: Kozy Kiosk a try, you can check out the demo over on Steam. While you’re there, go ahead and wishlist the game since it helps out the developer.
