Cosmic Arcade Tycoon is a small-life sim where you build a video game arcade on a small planet out in space. By doing so, you’ll entice alien lifeforms to your little planet and you’ll make passive income by them playing on the arcade cabinets.
There are a few elements to this game and they’re all very straightforward, which means that it can appeal to the cozy gamer who wants a lazier gameplay experience or children who want to play games on their own.
In Cosmic Arcade Tycoon, you’re given the basic building blocks to make your initial shell for an arcade, including an arcade machine. It costs you nothing to do this because when it comes to upgrades, you only buy the item once. It’s best to think of it like a licensing fee. You pay to use the item and once you do, you can place down as many of that item as you’d like at no extra cost.
This is one of the elements that I think make it so appealing to a younger audience because they don’t have to try and save up over and over again for a singular item. Once it’s unlocked, you have unlimited creative freedom with it.
To infinity and beyond: Cosmic Arcade Tycoon Edition

And, honestly? That’s the entire game. You build a small arcade, put down about 20 machines, and wait for people to come. You will have to run around the available land and click on them to point them in the right direction, but once your arcade is full, you’ll start raking in the money.
It’s a bit tedious to run around and then collect money from every single machine, but without it, it’d be an idle game. Once you’ve built up enough cash, you can unlock new furniture, machine types, or more land.
At first, you’ll only be able to cater to 20 aliens at a time, but expanding should up that number.
There’s nothing out-of-this-world amazing about Cosmic Arcade Tycoon, but it’s a quiet, cute way to pass some time. With boundless options for creativity, you can build up the arcade of your dreams.
Whether you want to try it out for yourself or you want to introduce the tiny people in your life to it, you can get Cosmic Arcade Tycoon on Steam for $4.99. If this slower-paced game isn’t your speed, you can check out our review of Alchemist Shop Simulator.
