Today’s Nintendo Direct brought us a bunch of news about new cozy games coming out that we can look forward to as well as some interesting news! Some of the titles mentioned below are available today, so it’s definitely worth skimming the list below.
Personally, as excited as I am for new cozy games, I’m probably most excited about the news on virtual game cards the most. It seems like a fantastic way to share games that you love and are passionate about with the ones close to you.
And, lastly, we got word on the next Nintendo Direct that will come out on April 2nd which will give us all the details about the Nintendo Switch 2.
Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is a remake of the original DS release “Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar“. It’s an immersive farming and life sim that lets you farm, care for animals, sell produce at a weekly bazaar, and build up friendships around town. Depending on your relationship, you might even find someone to be more than friends with. You’ll never have to worry about getting around town with a trusty glider on hand. Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on August 27, 2025.
Disney Villains Cursed Café

Disney Villains Cursed Café is out now on Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation! In it, you can craft concoctions for Disney villains. Mix ingredients to brew potions and elixirs then serve them to your villainous customers. Yzma can help you upgrade your ingredients for potions that can influence individual storylines for villains. This means that you can have different outcomes and it offers a range of replayability. It’s $14.99 across all platforms.
Witchbrook

Witchbrook brings the magic to you by inviting you to a magical school. There, you’ll master the magic arts, use circles to perform magic, fly on brooms, and become a skilled spellcaster. You’re not confined to just the school grounds, though. You can leave campus to hang out with your friends or even take on jobs that will help pay for tuition. You can even use the spells you’ve learned in class to create new and original items to sell. Witchbrook will be coming during the Holiday season in 2025 and will be able to support up to 4 players in online co-op.
Rift of the NecroDancer

Rift of the NecroDancer brings a new rhythm-based combat game. You’ll do one one-on-one battles that require you to press particular buttons to the beat and if you succeed, you’ll move on to boss battles! You’ll be able to break up the combat with some quirky mini-games, remix stages, and global leaderboards.
DLC options are promised in the future, starting with a Celeste Music Pack DLC that is out now! Rift of the NecroDancer is available today on Steam and Nintendo Switch for $19.99.
Tamagotchi Plaza

Tamagotchi Plaza is a game made up of 12 mini-games all centered around different stores. You can design glasses for your characters in the glasses store or design clothes in the — you guessed it — clothes store. You’ll, also, be able to clean Tamagotchi teeth at the dentist along with several other stores that offer a wide range of mini-games.
Provide great customer service to get good ratings at each shop. By doing so, your shops will upgrade and lure in new Tamagotchi. There will be over 100 new and classic Tamagotchi to play with.
It does mention that you can play with a second player but doesn’t mention if it’s an online co-op or if all the games can be played two-player. Tamagotchi Plaza will be released on Nintendo Switch on June 27, 2025.
Pokemon Legends Z-A

Pokemon Legends Z-A is one that we’ve already known and written about from the Pokemon Presents that happened recently. However, we do know that it will be coming in late 2025 now.
Choose from 1 of 3 starter Pokémon and set off on an adventure to Lumiose City. Lumoise City has been featured in previous games, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. A company stationed in Lumiose is carrying out a redevelopment plan that will make blending everyday life with Pokémon even easier! Inside the city, there are Wild Zones where you can go and catch Pokémon. Just be careful, some of them might be aggressive and chase you!
Pokémon aren’t just confined to wild zones, however. You can see them out in the city and on rooftops as well! The daytime life of Lumiose transforms when night falls. The aura of the city changes and you’ll be able to find battle zones set up across the city. By entering a battle zone, you’ll be able to challenge a trainer to a battle. Like all Pokémon games, eye contact means war. However, if you manage to sneak up on trainers, you’ll be able to do a sneak attack for an easy first hit.
As you play, you’ll start at Rank Z, but the best trainers will rise through the ranks all the way up to Rank A. Legend says that the trainers at the top might just have a wish granted!
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will be coming in 2026. We don’t know much about it other than Mii characters are living on an island out at sea. We see a few interactions, but there’s nothing concrete that has been said.
Quickfire list of more cozy games
- Rhythm Heaven Groove doesn’t have a main plot, but it’s made up of many rhythm mini-games. Press a button to the right rhythm and you’ll be able to master any mini-game. You can look forward to snagging this game in 2026.
- The Wandering Village is a city-builder that has been out for a while, but it will be released on Nintendo Switch on July 17.
- Lou’s Lagoon is an open-world, exploration life-sim coming during the Summer of 2025.
- Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time will be out on May 21, 2025. We’ve reported on this game before, so if you want to learn more about it, you can check out the list we wrote covering it.
- Monument Valley 1, 2, and 3: Monument Valley 1 and 2 have been put together in a bundle for you to enjoy that includes all the levels and DLC. The games have been out for a while, but with the announcement of Monument Valley 3, it’s a great time to catch up on the predecessors. The series is made up of isometric puzzles that require you to look at your surroundings in a different way. You can get Monument Valley 1 and 2 on April 15 and enjoy Monument Valley 3 sometime during the Summer of 2025.
- Everybody’s Golf Hotshots is coming sometime in 2025 and lets you golf your own way. You can play solo against competitors or play with 4 players locally or online. A mode called “whacky golf” turns everything on its head! The hole could have a tornado around or monoliths might drop from from the sky to block your shot!
Virtual Game Card
Nintendo has announced a new way to own games that are a cross between physical and digital ownership. They’ve made something called a “Virtual Game Card”. When purchasing a digital version of a game, it will be downloaded as a virtual game card. You can load and eject your games just like they were actual cartridges switching out of your system.
It’s more than just aesthetically cute, however. If you have two Nintendo Switch systems, you can transfer the game over to the other by syncing them up together. That means that your digital games are no longer trapped on the account it was bought on. You can buy a digital game on one Switch and then transfer it over to your synced Switch at any time. This is only possible with two switches, you can’t keep transferring it to multiple different consoles.
It’s not just your personal switches that can enjoy digital games though! Anyone on your family network in Nintendo Switch Online can borrow games! It’s not a full transfer like I mentioned above, this is basically a 2-week rental. So, if you have a relative or friend on your Nintendo Online Family plan, you can send them a game to try out even if they don’t live with you. The game will automatically return to your system after 2 weeks, so you don’t have to worry about losing it. You’ll only be able to lend one game at a time, so be mindful of that.
Starting in April, you’ll see the changes implemented and you can enjoy these benefits on the Nintendo Switch 2 when it comes out.
