If you’re like me, keeping things organized can be a bit of an undertaking. Sometimes it’s not about getting organized, it’s about staying that way. I, often, fall prey to the “keeping” part of that sentiment. So, what do we do? Do we keep arranging and hoping we find a system that works?
That’s not a serious question, because of course not! We procrastinate! We get our dopamine for a job well done by organizing in a game! Is it the healthiest? No, but it makes us happy and in a world on fire, that’s a crowning achievement.
So, here are some games that I think fit the bill. Whether you’re finding the perfect places to store things, organizing things into pleasing patterns, or placing an ungodly amount of plants in places where they’re going to thrive, there’s something for everyone here.
3 organization games for mental clarity

A Little to the Left
A Little to the Left is a puzzle-based organizational game. It has a series of levels with different objects and you have to study them to see if you can’t find a pattern. You get to fiddle with the objects and move them around, and sometimes, there is more than one right answer! I’ve never had so much fun trying to configure things into pleasing patterns. – Our Review
Unpacking
I have a love-hate relationship with Unpacking and it really has nothing to do with the game so much as the platform I played on. I played on Switch and I don’t think it lends itself very well to fiddly placement. I highly encourage you to play on the computer so that while you’re unpacking, you have an easier time tucking things in where you want them to go. It’s all about unloading boxes and finding the perfect little cubbyholes for your objects!

Urban Jungle
Urban Jungle is like a blend of the two above, it’s about placing objects but being mindful about where they go. You’ll create your own rainforest by placing dozens of plants in a room, but plants thrive under specific conditions. So, you’ll have to juggle light sources, humidity, and even neighboring plants to keep your fauna as happy as you can. – Our Review
We all probably have areas of our lives that could use some organizational attention. But, the most important thing to declutter is your mind. So, why not be kind and prioritize your mental health? Any of these three games is the perfect place to start in decompressing.
