As aging millennials here at Comfy Cozy Gaming, On-Together is so nostalgic for anyone who just can’t find a time or place to get together with their friends easily.
Many years ago, my friends and I would gather in an AIM chat room, jump onto Gaia Online, and play the fishing mini-game together while we talked about our day or discussed school and life. That was it, and that’s all it needed to be. On-Together takes that same kind of relaxing social experience and gives way more minigames to recapture my 2005 nostalgia.
Earlier today, during both the Wholesome Direct Showcase and the Women Led Games showcase, developer GigaPuff (comprised of only four devs on the team) announced and showed off On-Together. It seems to pull productivity elements from amazing desktop experiences, such as the excellent Spirit City: Lo-Fi Sessions, and merge them with a ton of little, casual mini-games.

They tout it as a “cosy chatroom game designed to help you focus and stay connected with friends,” and that just means so much to me. You can make the game full-screen, or only as part or corner of a screen, to keep yourself busy with work while you play a few rounds of hoops, travel around a little island, or play other games in different spots around that island.
Oh, and you can fish too. They don’t go into a lot of detail about it, but it brought back so much nostalgia when I saw the avatars sitting on a dock to fish together, just hanging out and chatting.
Not only can you customize your cute little avatar to your liking, but I should mention that you can also earn a customizable pet that’ll join you as you travel around and hang out with your friends.
The game has a ton of productivity tools as well to help you out, such as focus timers, to-do lists, progress trackers, and calendars. You can also utilize the music player within the game.
The game was announced today and doesn’t have a release date as of yet. But, this is a must-get from me. You can wishlist it now on Steam, which will let you know when it’s out. Plus, it’ll help out the developer.
