Like a cat watching the walls for noises, we’ve been following Squeakross: Home Squeak Home for some time now. Today, you can finally get your tiny little paws on it on Nintendo Switch, itch.io, and Steam.
If you’re a fan of Picross-style games, you’re going to love the Home Squeak Home program, which you’re a part of in the game. You’re provided with a home, but furnishing it is entirely up to you. You do this by solving nonograms and turning them into furniture. Across 650 solvable Squeakross puzzles, you’ve got a lot of gameplay value for this game.

Once you solve a nonogram of a piece of furniture, such as a chair or shelf, you can customize it and place it to your heart’s content and enjoy watching your completely customizable rat enjoy their new, also completely customizable, home.
Aside from the large number of puzzles to solve, there are some extra features worth mentioning. There is a Logic-Assist system built into the game that can help give hints to possible solutions. There is also no time limit, so you can play entirely at your own leisure. Additionally, for the cozy streamers out there, they even offer a “Streamer mode” to turn off Content ID-tagged music.
The developer, Albune, is composed of two devs, Alexandre Stroukoff and Luka Lescuyer. According to the press release we were sent, “they released their first game, The Spirit and the Mouse, on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation in 2022. Alblune aims to create non-violent, immersive games that can appeal to people of all ages. Obsessed with rodents, they also can’t help but include their furry friends in their games.”
Squeakross: Home Squeak Home is available on the Nintendo Switch, itch.io, and Steam today for $14.99 as the base price. If you’re picking it up on Steam, you get an extra introductory price of $13.49 instead until June 14th. Based on the sheer amount of content alone, it’ll be worth the price.
