If you plan to play Wylde Flowers, here’s a tip…
SPOILER WARNING: While nothing huge is spoiled, there may be elements that you wanted to discover for yourself in Wylde Flowers.
Let’s start with making money, fishing in the woods will yield fish that can all be made into fish sticks. This is the food item you want to focus on since it gives you 100 gold. With buying flour from Lina at 15g and the bait from Bruno at 4g, you still turn a very tidy profit. And early on, focusing on what doesn’t drain your energy is important.
To upgrade your tools, you’ll need copper, but you won’t start getting that until level 6 in the mines and it will drop very sporadically. It’ll take forever to upgrade each of your tools to copper if you’re farming for it. So, I recommend focusing on mining copper for your wood axe first. This will let you cut down big trees and help with all the wood requirements popping up.
Then, instead of farming for more copper, you’re going to buy gold from Francis to make the golden pickaxe. It’ll cost about 1k to buy the gold from Francis and then Natalia will want 3k to make the item.
It seems steep, but you can fish up 10+ fish a day, turning them into Fish Fingers, and then get well over 1k a day from selling to Sophia. Later on, you’ll be able to take control as your familiar, Cleocatra, and fish that way. Doing so earlier in the day and heading to the woods all the way to the right is the best way to do it. Just run up and down the water, hitting those three spots for fish until it’s time to head to bed. I’ve gotten 40 fish in one day this way.
If you’re going to play as Cleocatra, do it only on days where you’re mostly waiting for something to do. Once you turn into her, the only way to stop being her is to go to sleep. (You will be able to stay out later as her, but try to be home by 3 AM. I’ve read it’s 5 AM, but I passed out as her at 4:20, so keep that in mind.)
This way, you can use your copper wood axe to cut down trees while having your golden pickaxe that will 1-hit all rocks in the mine. Not only does this method make it easier to upgrade your wood axe, but it’s extremely useful when you’re still opening up the levels.
Also, manage your time wisely in the beginning. You’ll get a notification at 12 AM that you need to head to bed and have until 2 AM to get there. If you don’t sleep in time, you will pass out and have less energy the next day.
Crossing from the woods where you do your witchy things to your home takes about 1.5 hours, so heed that warning. Later, you’ll be able to move quicker around the island on your broom, but it’ll take about 20-ish in-game hours to open that feature. You’ll need levitation potions to make it work, but the cost to make them is low, so don’t feel you need to reserve them.
