Mystery Gift is nothing new to the Pokémon franchise, having been around since the early days of the games. So, it’s always nice to see cohesion when the games and anime have a little bit of synergy. Dot, a member of the Rising Volt Tacklers in Pokémon Horizons: The Series, and Dot’s Quaxly are getting a little love in the games’ Mystery Gift system starting today.
You can go grab Dot’s Quaxly using the Mystery Gift functionality of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. According to Serebii, it comes at Level 5 and has the moves Pound and Water Gun, with the ability Torrent.
You can also use the Partner Ribbon on Dot’s Quaxly to give it the in-battle title of “Dot’s Quaxly”, aptly.
If you’re unfamiliar with the current run of Pokémon anime, Ash and Pikachu are out and they’ve been replaced with characters like Liko and Roy. Traveling around on a giant airship with a crew known as the Rising Volt Tacklers, they get into adventures over on (for us in the USA) Netflix.
Dot and her partner Pokémon Quaxly are introduced early on as the streamer Nidothing, making videos and content about happenings in the Pokémon world. Dot eventually joins the Rising Volt Tacklers and her Quaxly comes along with her.
