We played a ton of cozy games in 2024 (over 80!), so we know a thing or two about what might be a great gift this year for a loved one or for yourself. These games span a few different genres and are either perfect 10s or solid 9s.
Whether it’s a 10 or a 9, you can bet that these games left a lasting impression on us. So, trust that these recommendations are from the heart. They are in no particular order other than to denote which games are 10s and which are 9s.
We’ve had a wonderful year providing reviews that we stand beside here at Comfy Cozy Gaming and we’re looking forward to bringing you even more next year.
In the list, you’ll find the link to our reviews and the link to where you can buy them. I’ve listed the prices at their full value, but almost all of these games are in the Steam Winter Sale, so it’s a fantastic time to nab them. And, they’re all under $25!
The cozy games of 2024 that are TENsational
Thank Goodness You’re Here!: I don’t even know how to begin describing this game. It’s basically the most absurd walking sim and it’s brilliantly fantastic. The humor in this is bonkers and I was amused the entire time. The art is quirky, the situations crazy, and you’re guaranteed to have a good time.

Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island: You’ll find a running theme of exploration games and this is one of them. While it’s more on the rails than most, I loved getting to help the gods on the island. Each of them had unique objects to find and tasks to complete. The art, story, and character designs were great and I hope we see more like this in the future.

The Holy Gosh Darn: For me, I thought this game filled a void. I love point-and-click games, but it’s so hard to come by solidly good ones these days. From the art to the puzzles to the humor, I thought The Holy Gosh Darn delivered a fantastic adventure. You’ll be rockin’ rockin’ rockin’ every day that you play this game. (That’s an inside joke, you should get the game to join in on it with me.)

Caravan SandWitch: I love nothing more than a game that lets me explore to my heart’s content rife with things to find and quests to complete. This game felt like there was always something to do and I never felt penalized for driving in whatever direction I wanted. I had such a good time exploring all of the old, forgotten buildings and helping the small community left on this planet. I felt rewarded every time I got closer to solving the mystery of my sister’s disappearance.

Botany Manor: Something about this one felt like a redemption arc for me. I played Myst as a child and was terrible at it. With this game, it gave the same vibes. Empty manor, clues about, and puzzles to solve. Only this time, I saw the code. I was truly sad when I completed this game. I wanted more art, more flowers, more everything.

Love, Ghostie: This one is a wholesome match-making game that has cute graphics and adorable characters. While I enjoyed making my own OTPs (one true pairing) and learning what each character liked, I enjoyed the story so much more. It was heartwarming to watch each individual character get accepted for exactly who they are.

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure: I found this little game to be so unique. (Don’t @ me, Pokemon Snap players of old.) You run around a little island cleaning up trash and taking pictures of wildlife. It’s such a simplistic design, but I had the best time exploring every inch of the island and thwarting the large condo corporation wanting to build on sanctuary land.

Été: This game feels like stepping into a picture frame. You’ll notice that the game seems leeched of color save for bubbles of varying colors floating around. When you interact with them, they deposit color and create a surreal experience where some things are colored while others are not. It was fun to run around finding these bubbles and it was even fun to use the things you’ve given color to in your canvas paintings since those items turn into stamps.

While not perfect, these cozy games are dressed to the nines
Little Kitty, Big City: I don’t even think I need to explain this one. You play as a cat given free reign in the city and you put hats on it. But, jokes aside, exploring the city, figuring out the puzzles, and finding all the hidden objects was a genuinely great time. I adored exploring every nook and cranny and figuring out how to bypass issues.

Pine Hearts: This game delivers a heartfelt story with a bittersweet overtone. It’s not a sad story, however. It’s one of achievement and nostalgia wrapped up in bright packaging. You run around several areas at the base of a mountain, helping people with their tasks and collecting items from them to aid you in your climb to the top of the mountain. It’s a sprawling area with hidden objects and a few mini-games sprinkled in.

Loddlenaut: Who doesn’t love a good cleaning game? In this one, you’re helping to clean up after a company that has left the planet, leaving waste and sludge behind. It’s an adorable adventure that not only is satisfying to play, but introduces you to the most adorable creatures: loddles. Look at their little faces and tell me you don’t need this game. I dare you.
