My Little Life is out today, January 31st, for $5.99. It’s a cute, pixelated life-sim that lets you be as interactive or as idle as you like. The idle mechanics take a bit of upfront work, but once you have your little guys all set up, you can leave them be for a few hours.
If you’re familiar with games like Rusty’s Retirement, then My Little Life will be familiar to you. This game sits at the bottom of your screen and keeps you company in an unobtrusive way. So, if you need to get things done, but want some company, this is a perfect game to have in your arsenal.
While they will idle, major decisions are left for you. Your little person will have tasks that they want to see fulfilled like getting promoted at their job or setting boundaries for what their living zone is. They’ll continue taking care of themselves and leveling up their skills in the background to finish their goals, but they’ll wait for your attention to achieve them.

Do you know what’s better than one little person? Multiple little persons! Fairly early on, you’ll have the chance to give your person a roommate. This addition will need their own space and their own career. In the beginning, painting, writing, and streaming will be your only jobs and they won’t be able to overlap careers.
So, if you have your first person as a streamer, you have the option to make your second person a painter or a writer. Later, you’ll have more careers open up for even more variety.
With two or more little people working at the same time, you’ll be able to upgrade their lives even quicker. Take them from drab to fab by upgrading items that increase their needs or decorating their areas to give them their own personalities.
It’ll be slow at first, but soon you’ll be taking care of a whole village! You just have to manage two types of currency; coins that buy items and Fulfillment Points (FP). FP is used to unlock items and can be earned by helping your little people fulfill their tasks and reach their dreams.
There’s a lot of opportunity to create a thriving village right on your desktop. If you’d like to snag My Little Life for yourself, you can grab it on Steam for $5.99.
