January felt like it overstayed its welcome, but we did manage to add a few reviews to the cozy game roster. There’s not much to say about them. We had a few simulators, an exploration game, a point-and-click adventure, and the return of an oldie, but a goodie.
While the reviews aren’t stacked this time, there was a heavy focus put on news pieces. You’ll find a few articles about upcoming cozy games that you should check out!
Cozy Game Reviews
If you’re a fan of the franchise, the new stand-alone Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete is worth getting and playing at your leisure on your phone. It has a couple of flaws, but definitely has so much content that you’ll never find yourself bored, no matter what time of year you log in.
While Chocolate Factory Simulator is visually pretty and has a great concept, it falls short at execution. Exact measurements and standing around waiting for the temperature to rise and fall repeatedly isn’t the realism I wanted.
PRIM hits all the right spots for me in what I look for in a point-and-click game. Not only is the story and art style good, but it’s clear the player was at the forefront of the design and choices. There are two different ways to get clues and I felt the puzzles made sense. I had a genuinely good time playing PRIM.
Aquatic Store Simulator sits somewhere in the middle for me on the scale of good vs bad in terms of simulator games. While I think it’s great that you don’t have to sit around and wait for customers, the pace at which they come is quickly overwhelming. You get no help from passive things or hired help. I did run into a game-breaking bug, but I go into detail in the article why I don’t think you’ll have to worry about it.
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is about an 8-hour game that lets you zoom around delivering packages and finding collectibles. I had a lot of fun exploring the island and getting to live my best witch life.
