Pokémon TCG Pocket: Triumphant Light set coming tomorrow

Today is Pokémon Day, the celebration of the 29th anniversary of the fabled franchise. With it are a ton of announcements for all of the games both currently available and upcoming. The fantastic Pokémon TCG Pocket has a couple of new goodies to keep track of, including a new themed set named Triumphant Light coming out tomorrow.

As the current Space-Time Smackdown set leaned into the fourth-generation of Pokémon games, Triumphant Light does as well with the Pokémon god Arceus on the pack art.

Similar to the themed Mythical Island that came out late last year, Triumphant Light is meant to help balance various decks from the most recent set, leaning into the Arceus ex card, among others.

Triumphant Light isn’t the only news for Pokémon TCG Pocket… There are also freebies!

In addition, you can log into your Pokémon TCG Pocket game right now and get three special “heavy” booster packs from Genetic Apex. I call them “heavy” as a reference to the classic TCG during the 1990s. If a booster pack had a holographic card in it, you could weigh it and find out if it was “heavy” or “light”.

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, you should have 3 Genetic Apex packs (a Pikachu pack, Mewtwo pack, and Charizard pack) waiting for you in your gifts, each “heavy” with a minimal 4 Diamond rarity card in the last slot of each.

In addition, they also announced that Ranked Match will be a new mode coming at the end of March, for those who want to prove their worth with their decks. It’s likely that there will be special rewards for hitting certain ranks.

Special Missions are also coming and will be available starting tomorrow, February 28th. The Special Missions will end on March 27th. This is speculation on my part, but it makes me think that Ranked Match will be available right after it ends.
