Every year, The Pokémon Company celebrates the anniversary of the release date of the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games, known as Pokémon Day. This presentation, Pokémon Presents, generally has rapid-fire announcements for in-game events, news about known projects, and offers some great surprises. This year is no different.
We went into detail about what we learned from some games already, separately, for Pokémon Day. But, there are just so many bits of news and information that it is easier to round them up and put them here.
If you’re here, you likely are looking to learn more about Pokémon TCG Pocket’s news. We’re getting a new themed set, Triumphant Light, tomorrow. If you log in now, you will also find three special Genetic Apex booster packs for free in your gifts. Check out our coverage here.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A, announced during last year’s Pokémon Day video, takes us back to the Kalos region in a new adventure that seems to be set after the events of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. You can read more about it here.
Pokémon Champions brings Pokémon battling to the tips of your fingers on Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS. You’ll be able to play using Pokémon you’ve caught in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Read about it more here.
Pokémon UNITE is getting a few new things this year, as well. Not only can you expect to see Suicune on March 1st, but we’ll also be getting Alolan Raichu and Alcremie as playable characters later this year. They’re also adding a new mode, First to 500, an updated map, and Aeos Technology that gives you special effects when you score a certain amount of points. You can read our coverage on all of the Pokémon UNITE news here.
On top of that, the Pokémon Presents dropped a ton of information for other games and media. So, let’s dive right in, shall we?
Table of Contents
Pokémon Concierge

Let’s start off Pokémon Day with some non-game news here to get it out of the way. Pokémon Concierge is an adorable stop-motion animated series of shorts on Netflix that follows the story of Haru, and her Psyduck helping run a Pokémon resort on a tropical island. The series is set to get a second season on Netflix, coming September 2025. In the trailer, new Pokémon like Shinx, Luxray, Crawdaunt, and Arcanine are shown during the presentation.
In addition, the entire first season (4 episodes) is available on Pokémon’s official YouTube channel until March 9th, to help you catch up before the new season hits. It’s adorable and well worth a watch. Plus, the episodes are short (and currently free to watch).
Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global

If you play Pokémon GO, you’re likely used to the types of events to expect from the now 9-year-old game. During March 1st and 2nd, the focus is on the Unova Region from the Gen 5 games. The event will be free for any players, allowing you to join raid battles for Black Kyurem and White Kyurem.
If you have Tour Pass Deluxe, a shiny Victini can be encountered as well. Also, by completing Masterwork Research, you’ll be able to encounter a shiny Aria Forme Meloetta.
If you head to the Pokémon GO web store right now and entire the promo code GOTOURUNOVA, you can encounter one Pokémon of your choice from a selection of the Gen 5 starters, Tepig, Snivy, and Oshawott.

After the event ends, starting March 4th, 2025, a new season of events will begin, called Might and Mastery. This season leans into Kubfu and Urshifu from the Pokémon Sword and Shield games.
Pokémon Masters EX – 5.5 Year Celebration

As a long-time player, I’m always excited for news about Pokémon Masters EX. For Pokémon Day, they’re celebrating their 5.5-year anniversary by bringing in the Primal Pokémon from Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby.
Beginning on Friday, February 28th Master Sync Pair May (Champion) and Shiny Primal Kyogre will appear in their featured Master Fair scout, with Master Sync Pair Brendan (Champion) and Shiny Primal Groudon appearing on March 2nd.
If you log into the game right now, you’ll get 3,000 gems just for logging in for free.
Pokémon Café ReMix

If you’re into casual games, Pokémon Café ReMix is a great way to relax. During the Pokemon Day presentation, they dropped some new updates and news about the game, including new menu items and potential staff members.
During the first event, a new menu item named Appleton Fruitilicious Jelly Soda will be available starting February 28th, which will allow you to choose either Flapple or Appletun to join your staff.

Also, starting February 28th, special Sweets Packs will be available to purchase, starting with Sprigatito. On March 14th, that’ll be replaced by Quaxly. Then, on March 28th, Fuecoco will be available until April 11th. All of these include special Sweets outfits.

Finally, for the last part of the celebration, just logging in right now will get you a Pikachu in a Sweets Outfit. If you log in for 3 days by March 14th, you’ll earn Eevee in a Sweets Outfit.
Pokémon Sleep

Pokémon Sleep, for those unaware, is more than just a game. It’s also an app for tracking your sleep. There have been a lot of Pokémon in the history of the franchise to be tied directly to sleep, but none more so than Darkrai.
Announced during the Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents, during the Cresselia vs Darkrai event, the nightmare Pokémon is trying to get involved in your sleep habits. Banish the Nightmare and get Darkrai as a sleeping Pokémon for your team of dozers.
Pokémon Trading Card Game

Touching on the physical Pokémon Trading Card Game for a moment, the Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents announced the grand return of Mege Evolution Pokémon cards in 2025. Not a lot of details were given, but they showed off Mega Lucario ex and Mage Gardevoir ex for the mainline game.
Whatever the set is, you can expect it to hit the mobile game, Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, as well at the same time.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Finally, we come to the most recent already available mainline games, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. There were a good handful of bits of news for the Nintendo Switch titles during Pokémon Day.
Starting off, you can get a special Scarlet Case in Pokémon Scarlet and a Violet Case in Pokémon Violet for your Rotom Phone. You’ll need to connect your Nintendo Switch to the internet to enter the password.

Pokémon Violet Password: VBOOKCOVER
Starting on February 28th until March 20th, you’ll be able to encounter Mass Outbreaks for Pokémon that are colored Red, Blue, or Green, in reference to the origin of Pokémon Day being the original release of Pokémon Red and Green. Make sure to update to the newest version of the game and the latest Poké Portal News to have access to the Mass Outbreaks.

There will also be special Tera Raid Battles for the evolutions of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet starters, which will allow you to catch each one once.
