Listen, sometimes you don’t want to go adventuring or slay the dragon. You just want to play a silly little guy in an uncomplicated world full of one-liners and jokes. I hear you — so, I present to you this list of funny Steam games.
Sometimes, the games that made me laugh left a longer-lasting impression than the ones that were epic adventures that I sank dozens of hours into. But, finding those games that make you L-O-L genuinely are hard to come by. I’m not saying humorous games don’t exist, they’re a dime a dozen. However, I’m not talking cutesy-silly. I’m talking genuinely funny.
Obviously, humor is extremely subjective, but allow me to believe I’m the foremost leading expert in this field for about five minutes. Let’s pretend — I said pretend — that I’m someone well-informed enough to recommend three games that I believe to be “funny games”.

Thank Goodness You’re Here!
No list is complete without the treasure that is Thank Goodness You’re Here! I’ll be honest, there are some jokes that likely went over my head because this is — from what I understand — classic Brit humor. However, my distinct lack of growing up in the UK didn’t stop me from laughing often at the contents of the game. Everything from start to finish was just so charmingly weird and humorous. You’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t play this game. – Our Review
WHAT THE CAR?
I will admit that I haven’t played the full version of WHAT THE CAR? yet. However, I did play the demo and I had a general sense of “WTF?” the entire time. It’s quirky, it’s weird, it has terrible puns and, yet, it was delightfully humorous. There was genuine interest in knowing how much weirder this car could be, from level to level. – Our Demo Review

There is No Game: Wrong Dimension
There is No Game: Wrong Dimension reminds me so much of old flash games on sites like Newgrounds. There’s just something about the humor that feels like it belongs in the early oughts. The whole premise is that this isn’t a game and it’ll take you through a bunch of different scenarios all while a cheeky narrator tries to convince you to stop and step away from this “not game”. It’s really fun to see the clever ways this game tries to subvert gameplay. And, most importantly, it’s just plain funny.
If you’ve played these games and you don’t agree, well, too bad. We already agreed to pretend that I know exactly what I’m talking about. So, there.
In all seriousness, even if you don’t find these as uproariously funny as I do, I still believe that these are very good games well worth the time and energy. I’d very much like to know what your picks would be for funny games. Feel free to drop them in the comments below.
