While the Nintendo Switch 2 was officially revealed back on April 2nd and the rest of the world was allowed to pre-order the system only a week later, due to the tariffs, we in the United States have been patiently awaiting pre-orders to open up for us as well. We finally know when that’s happening.
Nintendo’s official blog has unveiled the retail pre-order date as April 24th, 2025, less than a week from now.
In addition, Nintendo stated that the pricing that they originally announced remains unchanged, with the starting retail price of the Nintendo Switch 2 at $449.99 and the bundle that comes with Mario Kart World at $499.99. It appears the pricing of both Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza remains unaltered as well, sitting at $79.99 and $69.99, respectively.
Unfortunately, Nintendo also added that accessories “will experience price adjustments from those announced on April 2 due to changes in market conditions.” This is likely due to tariffs affecting the materials needed to produce these accessories and is subject to change, depending on further “market conditions.”
The Switch 2 accessories are a little higher in price now.
