If you thought Halloween was going to pass by Pokémon Pokopia without any fanfare, I’m pleased to say that isn’t the case. Starting on October 17th (Saturday at 5:00 am) and running through November 1st (Sunday at 4:59 am) local time, you’ll be able to take part in the “Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises” event. It will introduce Pumpkaboo and the evolution Gourgeist into your game.

During the event, you’ll be able to collect pumpkin candy that you can exchange for furniture and other items that are themed after a midnight festival. With the items, you’ll be able to create a habitat for Pumpkaboo so that you can become friends with it.

How to get started on the Pokémon Pokopia Halloween Event!

Before you can take part in the event, you’ll need to have a few things completed first. You’ll need to have rebuilt at least one Pokémon Center and have obtained the Camouflage ability from Zorua in Bleak Beach.

When the event begins, you’ll be able to find Pumpkaboo near the Pokémon Center to talk to and become friends with.

To collect Pumpkin Candy, you’ll play a bit of a hide-and-seek game with your camouflage skill, where you’ll transform into furniture or other items and surprise Pokémon when they get close. In doing so, you’ll earn a candy.

Once you’ve obtained enough candies, you can exchange them for special items. From the shared images, you can expect to get various Halloween-related items. There’s a Trevanent statue featuring Phantump and Noibat, a set of balloons that feature witch-hat Pikachu and Drifloon, a Pikachu-shaped candy bucket, a stack of pumpkins in the likeness of Pikachu, Mimikyu, and Haunter, a statue with Duskull, Dusclops, and Dusknoir, something related to Cofagrigus, and more!

I know I’m excited about all of the Halloween vibes that can be added to the towns, but even if that’s not your thing, everyone can get excited about inviting more Pokémon to the area.
